7 Signs It’s Time to Rebuild Your Church or Nonprofit Website

Church and nonprofit websites often get built once by a volunteer and then left alone for years. Here are seven signs it may be time for a refresh.

The List

1. It was last updated by someone who has since moved on. No one currently on staff knows how to log in or make changes.
2. It does not look right on a phone. Most visitors, including first-time visitors researching a service time, are on mobile.
3. The donate or giving button is broken or missing. This directly costs the organization money.
4. Service times, staff, or programs are outdated. Wrong information erodes trust fast.
5. There is no way to contact anyone easily. A missing or buried contact form turns interested visitors away.
6. It runs on an old, unsupported platform. Old platforms are more vulnerable to security issues.
7. No one feels confident updating it. If updates require a developer every time, the site will keep falling behind.
