The scariest website problems don’t jump out at you. They sit quietly until the day they matter. Here are three you can check in ten minutes.
1. The security warning
Visit your site and look at the address bar. You want a padlock, not a “Not secure” label. Click the padlock and look for the certificate details to see when it expires. Put that date in your calendar.
2. The missing backup
Find out where your backups live and when the last one ran. If you can’t answer that, you don’t have a backup plan yet. Write down who can restore it and how.
3. The contact form that goes nowhere
Send yourself a message through your own contact form. Did it arrive? Check your spam folder too. Do this once a month.
Bonus: the old login
Remove any user account that belongs to someone who no longer works with you.
